It is at the same time one of the largest castles West Germany's and the largest reconstructed castle complex in North Rhine-Westphalia. We have done this for occasion taken to the three Count from Berg a razor series to dedicate, which parts of the symbolizes the life of the three counts and with impressive Ornaments made of 24 carat gold at the considerable possessions

and the power influence of the counts remembers. Adolf II, Count of Berg built the new castle ("Novus Mons", today known as Schloss Burg) at of the Wupper, on a predecessor fortification from the 10th Century. The influence and

the monetary performance capability of the Count Adolf II of Berg in Rhenish-Westphalian region was immense. The then usual Inheritance division between the six sons Adolf made the house Berg caused problems, as these division a devaluation matched and the Berg dynasty any would lose influence. Since his eldest and namesake son Adolf already before 1148 Damascus in the Second Crusade died, his sons Friedrich

and Bruno into the clerical life introduced were and his youngest son Adolf due to his young age from the inheritance claim separated, was 1160 the Bergian territorial domain under Adolf's sons Everhard and Engelbert divided.

EVERHARD COUNT OF THE MARK

Everhard, older than Engelbert, received the Westphalian possessions with the castles Altena and Hövel and the ogteien Werden, Essen and Cappenberg. This will clear, that for Adolf II the Rhenish Franconian possessions the Westphalian compared to of of lesser value be must. Everhard founded the Altena line; his Descendants called themselves later Counts of Mark.

ADOLF III. COUNT OF BERG

Engelbert I. of Berg received the Rhenish Franconian Heir and led the Name Berg in his family further. The center of his domain became the already by his father (Adolf II.) built castle Castle on the

Wupper. Engelbert I. died 1189 on the Third Crusade. His eldest son, Adolf III., followed to him as Count of Berg. His reign years fell in the time of military conflicts, and thus also took he participated in crusades. Adolf broke 1218 to the Fifth Crusade to Saint land and died on 7. August 1218 as commander the Rhenish and Frisian siege troops before Damietta in Nile Delta from a plague. He left behind no son, so that the The Altena-Berg line became extinct.

ENGELBERT II. COUNT OF BERG

After the death of Adolf III. made the House of Limburg, in the Adolf's daughter Irmgard married in had, his inheritance claim over the entire bergian claimed possession. Although the daughter of Adolf III. also already according to amaligem law heir was, claimed Engelbert II., brother of Adolf III., the inheritance for himself. The succession dispute was not in a legal proceedings, but with force through two feuds decisively. Engelbert rejected the Limburg claims with military force back and took over himself as Engelbert II. the rule over the county Berg. Engelbert II. Count of Berg, later called "the Saint", was also as Engelbert I, Archbishop of known in Cologne. With his Murder ended in 1225 Berg comital family in this line of descent, as the male line of the Berg Count with the death of Engelbert II. expired. Berg thus passed to the House Limburg, which thereby his Inheritance claims finally assert could.

Böker Razor Manufactory

Since the beginnings of the Böker Knife Manufactory in 1869, high-quality razors have been produced in Solingen. Even then, the focus was on processing absolutely high-quality materials and emphasizing the highest manufacturing quality. The success of this product policy quickly became apparent, making Böker razors internationally known. After the end of World War II, the production of razors was gradually discontinued. Today, an original Böker USA catalog from 1906 represents the oldest document in the company archive about the razor assortment of that time. Classic and traditionally crafted razors have been experiencing a true renaissance for some time. Worldwide demand is continuously increasing. In recent years, we have made significant investments in razor manufacturing in machinery, personnel, and further development of know-how to meet the growing demand for high-quality razors and to further expand our strong market position.
