Why badger hair
There are shaving brushes made with boar bristles and badger hair. Boar bristles, however, are very stiff, and you scratch more in the soap instead of lathering. Badger hair is soft and produces a fine lather. The hair structure is ideally suited—it remains even when wet, retains its shape and does not fall not together.
Proper care of a shaving brush is simple:
rinse thoroughly under warm, running water after every use to remove all to remove soap residue. Shake out the water remaining in the hairs and then store the shaving brush Store it hanging so that residual moisture does not collect at the base of the hair and which can cause mildew stains and mold to form. If the shaving brush handle is heavily covered with soap residue be covered with residue, it may be placed in a warm water bath together with a few drops of mild dishwashing liquid or bathe it with mild shampoo; the residue can be then remove thoroughly. Never use vinegar or other harsh Cleaning products!
