Synthetic "badger" hair has some advantages but the disadvantage that it is not more elastic when wet than when dry. This makes foaming the shaving soap somewhat more difficult, and if too much pressure is applied to the soap while foaming, the foam sometimes lands with great force on the bathroom mirror.
With this new version of Dr. Dittmar Special, foaming is now even easier. The soap is granulated and pressed into the tin under pressure, resulting in a lower density than the soap in solid pieces, making it even easier and faster to foam.
The formula itself has not changed; only the mechanical processing has been altered. Besides the even better foaming behavior, this has a second advantage: production costs are slightly reduced. We are happy to pass this advantage on to you.

DR. DITTMAR works threefold:
1. Dr. Dittmar shaving soap softens the beard hair. This makes it easier to cut.
2. The beard hair is captured closer to the root by the swelling effect of the soap.
3. Dr. Dittmar shaving soap produces a firm lather. This allows the blade to glide smoothly over the skin.

Dr. Dittmar special shaving soap, made according to an old family recipe with a special soap mixture combined with warm water and a badger hair shaving brush, provides excellent and quick preparation of the beard hair for a particularly deep, gentle, and long-lasting shave.
Due to the special mode of action of Dr. Dittmar's special shaving soap, the beard hair is pushed particularly far out of the hair canal, stabilized in the hair canal, and simultaneously softened. Therefore, it can be captured closer to the hair root by the razor blade and shaved more easily without irritating the hair root. The omission of allergenic additives such as coumarin and geraniol, as well as the soap's skin-conditioning effect, protect the skin, making this soap especially suitable for sensitive skin. Redness and irritation after shaving are avoided, and problems with ingrown hairs are combated. The shave lasts very long (usually longer than 8 hours), and due to the softening effect on the beard hair, the lifespan of your razor blades is extended.
After shaving, brushes and facial skin must be thoroughly rinsed with water to remove soap residues.
With Nyldachs shaving brushes (or fibre shaving brushes from other manufacturers), there is no need to clean the brush. The synthetic badger hair is not attacked by the alkaline shaving soap, and the soap foam can remain in the brush head and be used again the next day.
Then use a mild aftershave lotion, aftershave gel, or ideally our Dr. Dittmar care tonic to astringe the skin again and close the pores opened by the shaving soap.
