Too much sebum (hair fat) on the scalp and too little sebum in the hair causes hair to appear thin. Men then try to compensate by washing hair daily with fat-dissolving (caffeine) shampoos and applying volume-boosting hairsprays or smoothing hair gels.

But all these products (shampoos, gels, and sprays) damage the hair and clog the scalp. There simply is no product that can repair hair, even if advertising often claims otherwise. Hair can only be protected and promoted BEFORE it penetrates the scalp (through a healthy lifestyle). After that, it is "dead" tissue that must be cared for and protected. For this, only the body's own sebum (hair fat) of the scalp is naturally responsible. 

A good hairbrush, like this one, allows the hair to be strengthened and smoothed by the body's own sebum, prevents greasy-looking scalp hair, and also helps against dandruff.

We even recommend washing hair with shampoo (pure water of course does no harm) only every two to three days—provided you brush the hair vigorously once daily and massage the scalp with the high-quality wild boar bristles of this hairbrush specially made for men's hair (and men's scalp).

Technically, the difference to long hair brushes is only that the bristles are inserted "the other way around": the cut ends of the bristles are higher than the keratinized root of the bristles. This allows the wild boar bristles to absorb more hair sebum and distribute it in the hair while brushing. For long, very dense hair, however, the brush is not suitable for this reason (here the keratinized roots of the wild boar bristles are essential for penetrating the hair and should be higher than the cut side of the bristle).
