*Why open or closed combs?:
The open comb allows the razor blade to get closer to the skin - the openings in the comb also allow longer beard hair to be cut. The open comb shaves more thoroughly, but you are more likely to cut yourself if you make mistakes in guiding the razor.
Our closed comb shaves very gently and also thoroughly typical of safety razors and forgives errors in razor handling. It is therefore very safe. With longer beard hair (i.e., not daily shaving), you may need to shave twice until the shave is perfect.

Dr. Dittmar safety razors are doubly refined: first nickel-plated, then chrome-plated to a shine. Production is almost exclusively handmade, each piece is polished by hand and then coated. This guarantees high durability of the chrome plating and perfect shaving properties.
