Acrylic glass or Plexiglas (TM) is extremely durable, shatterproof, timelessly elegant, relatively heavy and ... must be shaped with considerable effort like wood. Unlike plastics, acrylic glass is not injection molded by machine, but shaped and polished partly by extensive manual work. 

The large shaving soap dish offers plenty of space for lathering the shaving soap. The lid with the knob made of chrome-plated brass prevents the shaving soap from drying out and protects it from dust. 

Acrylic glass is resistant to the components of the soap (and of course to water), but contact or cleaning with alcohol or alcoholic cleaners must be avoided. Unlike many (coated) metal soap dishes, the material never discolors and no residues remain on the soap. 

Acrylic glass is the optimal material to perfectly store shaving soap, as there are no known reactions with the ingredients.

DR. DITTMAR works threefold:

1. Dr. Dittmar shaving soap softens the beard hair. This makes it easier to cut. 
2. The beard hair is captured closer to the root by the swelling effect of the soap. 
3. Dr. Dittmar shaving soap produces a firm lather. This allows the blade to glide smoothly over the skin.

The shave is deeper and lasts longer.

Dr. Dittmar special shaving soap, made according to an old family recipe with a special soap mixture combined with warm water and a badger hair shaving brush, provides excellent and quick preparation of the beard hair for a particularly deep, gentle, and long-lasting shave. 
Due to the special mode of action of Dr. Dittmar Special Shaving Soap, the beard hair is pushed particularly far out of the hair canal, stabilized in the hair canal, and simultaneously softened. Therefore, it can be captured closer to the hair root by the razor blade and shaved more easily without irritating the hair root. The omission of allergenic additives such as coumarin and geraniol, as well as the soap's skin-conditioning effect, protect the skin and make this soap especially well tolerated for sensitive skin. Redness and irritation after shaving are avoided, and problems with ingrown hairs are combated. The shave lasts very long (usually longer than 8 hours), and due to the softening effect on the beard hair, the lifespan of your razor blades is extended. 
After shaving, brushes and facial skin must be thoroughly rinsed with water to remove soap residues. Then use a mild aftershave lotion or gel to astringe the skin and close the pores opened by the shaving soap.
