The shaving bowl itself is made from a piece of buffalo horn. The horn is cut lengthwise cut open, shaped into a plate under heat, cut, and then reshaped into the bowl again under heat. The foot of the bowl is also made of made of buffalo horn - however, this round, approx. 7mm piece comes from the solid tip of the water buffalo horn. 

The bowl lies perfect in the hand and allows comfortable lathering of the Shaving soap.

The horn was carefully polished and is well protected by a layer of beeswax against soap and water protected. Also, moisture remaining with the soap does no harm to the bowl - but one should avoid (with a possibly necessary cleaning of the bowl) very hot water, household cleaners or even placing it in the dishwasher or the Quick drying on the heater or with the hairdryer.

Horn has a very pleasant feel - after all, the material is of the same origin as our skin itself. Each bowl looks a little different because the horn always features individual grain patterns. The natural material does not give off any free of harmful substances and does not react with the shaving soap.
