Massive handcrafted shaving bowl made of genuine light cattle horn.

high gloss polished inside and outside. Usable depth: approx. 40mm Diameter (at the upper edge) approx. 100mm The shaving bowl itself is made of made from a piece of cattle horn. The horn is cut lengthwise, shaped into a plate under heat, cut, and then again under heat shaped into the bowl. Only large cattle horns are suitable - we mainly use the horn of the African Zebu cattle.

The bowl sits perfectly in the hand and allows comfortable lathering of the shaving soap. The horn was carefully polished and is thus protected by a layer well protected against soap and water by beeswax. Also, a layer applied with the soap remaining moisture does no harm to the bowl - what should be avoided but (in case cleaning of the bowl ever becomes necessary) very hot water, household cleaners, or even placing it in the dishwasher or quick drying on the heater or with the hairdryer. Horn has a very pleasant feel - after all, the material is of the same origin as our skin itself. Each bowl is unique, as the horn always has individual grain patterns has. The natural material does not release any harmful substances and does not react with the shaving soap.
