Why badger hair
There are shaving brushes made with boar bristles and badger hair. Boar bristles, however, are very stiff, and you end up scratching more in the soap instead of lathering. Badger hair is soft and produces a fine lather. The hair structure is ideal—it remains remains stable even when wet, retains its shape, and does does not clump together.
Proper care of a shaving brush is simple:
rinse thoroughly under warm, running water after each use to remove all to remove soap residue. Shake out the water remaining in the hairs, then store the shaving brush store it hanging so that residual moisture does not collect at the base of the hair and which can lead to mildew stains and mold. If the shaving brush handle is heavily covered in soap residue, covered in residue, it may be soaked in warm water together with a few drops of mild dishwashing liquid or bathe it with mild shampoo; the residue can be then remove thoroughly. Never use vinegar or other harsh Cleaning products!
