Why badger hair
There are shaving brushes made with pig bristles and badger hair. However, pig bristles are very stiff, and you end up scratching more in the soap instead of lathering. Badger hair is soft and produces a fine lather. The hair structure is ideal—it remains it remains stable even when wet, retains its shape, and does do not clump together.
