The ground and polished shells of pearl mussels were once a common currency material and have long been used in jewelry making. The handles of the Böker Mother of Pearl consist of mother-of-pearl-Imitation and, unlike natural material, very robust. The shimmering handle harmonizes beautifully with the partial gilding of the spine and the bolster. The extra hollow ground and scalloped blade in the size 6/8 inch is made from classic non-stainless carbon steel manufactured. With authentic Böker stamp on the blade tang, certificate of authenticity, and historical packaging. Handcrafted in the Böker Knife Manufactory Solingen.
O1
The universally usable carbon steel O1 has a high content of manganese, chromium, and tungsten, thus impressing with very good machinability and polishability. The high-quality tool steel is often used as cold work tool steel and is easy to shape and sharpen. It produces a very good cutting edge that also remains sharp comparatively long. Since it is a non-stainless carbon steel, it should not be exposed to direct moisture for an extended period.
Böker Razor Manufactory
Since the beginnings of the Böker Knife Manufactory in 1869, high-quality razors have been produced in Solingen. Even then, the focus was on processing absolutely high-quality materials and emphasizing the highest manufacturing quality. The success of this product policy quickly became apparent, making Böker razors internationally known. After the end of World War II, the production of razors was gradually discontinued. Today, an original Böker USA catalog from 1906 represents the oldest document in the company archive about the razor assortment of that time. Classic and traditionally manufactured razors have been experiencing a true renaissance for some time. Worldwide demand is continuously increasing. In recent years, we have made significant investments in razor manufacturing in machinery, personnel, and further development of know-how to meet the growing demand for high-quality razors and to further expand our strong market position.
