Admittedly - almost everyone who offers an inexpensive product claims this. However, it is often forgotten that "inexpensive" usually has nothing in common with "cheap".
Those who buy "cheap" always buy twice. You won't be buying this shaving set again anytime soon - it lasts very long:
The Shaving Brushhandle is made of ABS plastic - an almost indestructible material (so please do not dispose of it in the North Sea) and pure badger hair. This badger hair quality is not the best there is, but it is very good - it lathers shaving soap perfectly and is velvety soft on the skin when applying. Well rinsed after each shave, this shaving brush lasts many years.
The safety razor with butterfly mechanism (you turn the lower end of the handle and the blade holder opens at the top) is made of chrome-plated brass. Connoisseurs know that the wings open evenly
(also have to open) in parallel - and not one after the other as with most products from Far Eastern production. This is guaranteed with the Dr. Dittmar Butterfly razors - they open and close symmetrically and thus ensure a perfect position of the razor blade. A crooked razor blade can ruin the whole morning - you then constantly have a tissue on your face.... Otherwise, these rather heavy razors are carefully crafted and, thanks to the ribbed surface of the handle, are easy to hold even with wet hands. That the razor is well balanced is a matter of course.
The Shaving Soap Dish (Delivery incl. 70g original Dr. Dittmar Special Shaving Soap) is made of stainless chrome-plated steel - it is high enough to allow the soap to develop sufficient lather and small enough to be comfortably held in the hand. With genuine shaving soap, a lid is not necessary - shaving soap foam residues should remain in the dish, dry out, and be lathered again the next day. This saves soap. A lid is only a hindrance. And the soap should not get dusty either - unless you shave only every few weeks - then this set is the wrong choice anyway - the "high duty" product is designed for daily use.
The holder for brush and razor is made of stainless steel, carefully chrome-plated. There are no sharp edges (as with other sets in this price range) that could damage valuable glass or ceramic surfaces
could scratch. You also cannot bend the holder - also a distinction
to other products, which certainly look the same at first.
However, we have still saved on this product (similar to all other Dr. Dittmar products): The packaging is minimalist. Cardboard lid and clear plastic bag must suffice. (Please the
Do not dispose of plastic parts in the North Sea either - otherwise we will have to charge 15 cents EU bag deposit at some point...)
