Why badger hair
There are shaving brushes with boar bristles and badger hair. Boar bristles, however, are very stiff, and you scratch more in the soap instead of lathering. Badger hair is soft and produces a fine lather. The hair structure is ideal—it remains stable even when wet, retains its shape, and does does not clump together.
Proper care of a shaving brush is simple:
rinse thoroughly under warm, running water after each use to remove all to remove soap residue. Shake out the water remaining in the bristles and then store the shaving brush store it hanging so that residual moisture does not collect at the base of the bristles and which can cause mildew stains and mold to develop. If the razor brush handle is heavily covered with soap residue be covered in residue, it may be placed in a warm water bath together with a few drops of mild dishwashing liquid or mild shampoo; the residue can be then remove thoroughly. Never use vinegar or other harsh Cleaning products!
